The position
To generate and create profitable sales from existing and new customers that align with our client's strategy for gross margin growth and financial/operational performance, while providing timely support to both internal and external customers.

Duties include:
  • Respond to incoming customer inquiries, develop accounts, and generate quotes using our client's database; ensure the database is maintained and monitor/follow up on quotations.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to increase market share by growing sales.
  • Meet the quote and order processing KPIs, including conversion rates, and maintain CRM data.
  • Provide product prices, delivery specifications, and payment terms, and offer substitute products where appropriate.
  • Assist outside sales and/or branch management in processing priority transactions.
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders, customer orders, procurement matches, and trade discounts as needed.
  • Work with internal departments to set up and maintain accurate customer files (profiles).
  • Provide prompt responses to internal and external customer, vendor, and branch inquiries about the material and the sales function.
  
Skills & experience required:
  • Sales experience, with a preference for experience in valves and/or automation.
  • Preferable understanding of oil, gas, and/or mining industry specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate, ideally with experience in SAP or a similar in-house ordering system.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the region, with occasional overnight stays as needed.
